FEO handsover Care Packs to Pearly Gates Home. The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) Director Operations Ms. Anaseini Senimoli today handed over care packs for women and girls to Mr. Viliame Tawanakoro, Social Worker with Global Compassion. The care packs which were donated by the staff of the FEO included sanitary products and other self care products for women and girls. This initiative is part of the FEO’s efforts to give back to society.The Director Operations was accompanied by the Manager Human Resources Ms. Afreena Hussein and Human Resources Officer Epeli Naidrodro.Global Compassion manages the Pearly Gates Home that looks after women and girls that have been victims of social abuse and trauma. FEO holds Talanoa Session with participants of the Introduction to Elections Workshop for members of the Elections Disability Access Working Group (EDAWG) and Organizations for Persons Living with Disabilities (OPDs).To wrap up the two (2) day workshop for EDAWG members and participating OPDs the workshop included a Talanoa Session.The session was moderated by workshop facilitator and FEO Training and Development Unit Coordinator Ravneel Chand. The panelists for Talanoa were:1. Director Operations and EDAWG Chair – Ms. Anaseini Senimoli;2. Acting Manager Legal – Mr. Mesake Dawai;3. Divisional Manager West and EDAWG founding member – Mr. Viliame Vuiyanuca;4. Manager Stakeholder Engagement and Awareness – Ms. Fulori Turaga; and5. FEO Commences Two Day Introduction to Elections Workshop for Elections Disability Access Working Group (EDAWG) Members.The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) commenced a Two (2) Day Introduction to Elections Workshop for Representatives and Members of the EDAWG and Organizations for Persons Living with Disabilities (OPDs).Speaking at the event, the USAID Pacific Islands Deputy Mission Director Mr. Micheal Glees said USAID was thrilled to continue its ongoing work with the FEO and EDAWG with support through the Promoting Just, Engaged, Civic-minded and Transparent (PROJECT) Governance Program."USAID remains steadfast in our commitment to surpassing past achievements and ensuring accessibility for voters with disabilities in upcoming elections," said Mr. Glees.In delivering his opening remarks, the FEO’s Director Corporate Services Mr. Sanjeshwar Ram expressed optimism in the workshop in strengthening collaborative efforts to ensure inclusivity in electoral processes."I am optimistic that the wealth of knowledge and collaboration you will have, will not only empower you, but complement your commitment to inclusivity of the Electoral processes of our country," said Mr. Ram.The workshop which concludes tomorrow Tuesday 7 May 2024, was made possible with the ongoing support from the USAID and the implementation partner – The Pacific Community (SPC). FEO concludes CSO BRIDGE Workshop.The Fijian Elections Office (FEO) on Friday 3 May 2024, concluded the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) BRIDGE Workshop on Civic and Voter Education.While officiating at the closing ceremony the FEOs Director Operations Ms. Anaseini Senimoli reminded participants that the workshop not the end of the FEO’s their engagement with CSOs, but the beginning of collaborative efforts in Civic and Voter Education."This is not the end of our journey, it is the beginning of our collaborative journey for better Voter and Civic Education initiatives for Fiji," said Ms. Senimoli.The FEO also thanked their counterparts at the Australian High Commission in Suva and the Australian Electoral Commission for the support of the initiative.
